Chance to Start Over...How To Get Rid of All Those Users

Sep 18, 2009 at 3:57 AM

Hi All,

I have a fully working version of TheBeerHouse hosted on GoDaddy that is fully working except PayPal.  I am currently forced to move to a new Web Hosting company.  The version I am using is the original version created in AP.NET 2.0 and using MSSQL 2005.

Question: Given I have to re-deploy, how can I clean up the database?  It has hundreds of “users” and other data that I did not enter.  I would love to start with a clean slate by removing these extra users.  I of course will have to remember how to create the admin account.  Is there other data I should also consider getting rid of?

Cheers,

MEA

With all due respect, I think this forum is intended as support for issues specifically related to TheBeerHouse.

I personally have had better luck with general questions at www.asp.net.

Also, you might try the search engines...try something like this:

"sql server+'delete anonymous users'"

I seem to remember reading somewhere a simple way of deleting anonymous users - I think it was from a Visual Studio command prompt. I'll try to find it.
