1. When I try to open the October 3rd  VB release in Visual Studio, I get the following error messages:

       - Unable to open project  - '\TBH_Setup\TBH_Setup.vdproj'

       - BeerHouse35_deploy\BeerHouse35_deploy.wdproj cannont open because its project type (.wdproj)

         is not supported by this version of the application.

2. BeerHouse35.suo is missing from the root folder.

3. There is no database or .sql script for creating the database included in the release.

1. This happen to me too. I just continued through...

2. I didn't have the.sou either...

3. There is a zip file that contains the mdf and ldf files.

Download the zip files.

Attach to your SQL.

Notice that the web.config is setup so that all you have to do is replace Chrislove with your machine name and change the port to be used.

I hope this helps.....

I am hoping to hear from the community at large that they have been able to successfully work through these setup issues and what types of issues they have faced with the current state of this "pre-release" source code.

BeerHouse-db.zip only has the ASPNETDB.MDF database.

\BeerHouse35\web.config and \TBHBLL\web.config both contain connection strings for 'TheBeerHouseVB'.

Are you referring to the following entry in \TBHBLL\web.config?

<dcacheClient deployment="simple" localCache="true">

     <hosts>

          <!--List of hosts -->

          <host name="CHRISLOVE-PC" cachePort="22233" cacheHostName="DistributedCacheService"/>

     </hosts>

</dcacheClient>

I have not seen this before. Is this related to the Entity Framework?

Has the release date of the 3.5 book been announced?
